Infertility Treatments

Ovulation Induction

Ovulation Induction is a low-intervention type of fertility treatment. It involves the administration of hormonal medication to cause ovulation, control ovulation or increase the number of eggs produced during ovulation, to increase the likelihood of achieving a pregnancy.

Artificial Insemination (IUI)

Artificial Insemination (AI), otherwise known as Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), is a relatively low-intervention fertility treatment procedure, during which a sample of washed sperm from the partner or a sperm donor is inserted into a woman’s uterus directly, to improve the chances of conceiving.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) is the process by which eggs are taken from a woman’s body, fertilised with sperm in a petri dish and, after a few days of incubation, replaced back into her body.  Literally translated, in vitro fertilisation means fertilisation in glass.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is an extension on traditional IVF.  ICSI involves injecting a single sperm into each egg, rather than relying on the efforts of the sperm to penetrate the egg alone.

Mini IVF

Mini-IVF is an Artificial Reproductive Technology (ART) procedure, that uses lower doses of stimulation, therefore collecting less eggs than conventional IVF.

Surgical Sperm Collection

Surgical sperm collection (SSC) is a term that collectively describes the techniques by which sperm are removed from the testicle or epididymis, either being aspirated by a fine needle or a fine incision.

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)

A frozen embryo transfer is the transfer of a frozen-thawed embryo back into the patient’s uterus.
