Maria graduated from St. Petersburg Medical Academy, in 1989, working in Women’s Health for the first 12 years.
In 2002, Maria migrated to New Zealand with her young family to work at Wellington Hospital. Here she completed her specialist training by obtaining a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Dunedin University in 2009 and thereafter Maria successfully completed her RANZCOG ITP and was awarded her fellowship in 2014.
With a keen interest in laparoscopic surgery, Maria moved to Sydney to complete a fellowship in Pelvic and Laparoscopic Surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital.
She relocated in February 2016 to finally settle in Perth. Currently, Maria works at Joondalup Health Campus as an O&G staff specialist teaching junior staff and is a RANZCOG training supervisor, as well as working at Fertility North.
Maria is fluent in both English and Russian. She has commenced consulting private Fertility and Gynaecology patients. Her areas of special interest are Urogynaecology, Pelvic Pain, Endometriosis and Infertility, Colposcopy and Vulvar Disease, and of course Obstetrics. Maria is currently working towards obtaining her Masters in Reproductive Medicine.
Outside of medicine, Maria is passionate about needlework, gardening, photography and travel.
